London Harley Street Botox (anti-wrinkle treatment)

You will probably be aware that anti-wrinkle injections (Botox as they are more usually recognised) are arguably the most popular and sought-after anti-wrinkle treatments in London and the UK, if not the world. Dr Dan Dhunna is one of the globe’s esteemed artists in this field.

Botox is the brand name for the substance Botulinum Toxin Type A and is made by Allergan, a world-leading pharmaceutical company. Botox is a neurotoxin which, when injected in to the facial muscles, blocks the nerve receptors which cause expression lines and dynamic wrinkles. Botox is used to smooth out lines such as crow’s feet, Glabellar lines, forehead lines, neck lines and the lines down the side of the nose (bunny lines).

A Botox treatment, when expertly administered by a medical doctor, such as Dr Dan Dhunna, takes around 10 minutes to administer and does not require any anaesthetic. Result can be seen within hours to 2 weeks and can last between 3 to 6 months.

Lip fillers in Harley Street

Hyaluronic Acid dermal fillers help to plump, hydrate and temporarily augment various contours and features of the face. The lips are a feature that can be significantly improved with dermal fillers. Made from a gel-infused hyaluronic acid (HA), dermal fillers come in various viscosities (thicknesses). When injected into the lips by a medical professional such as Dr Dan Dhunna, dermal fillers can re-enhance, re-structure and volumize. Dr Dan Dhunna only uses FDA approved dermal fillers, such as Juvéderm and it’s important to remember that dermal fillers need to be administered by a medical and not a beauty therapist or non-medic. In the right hands, dermal fillers can offer beautiful and natural results in a safe, GMC and CQC regulated environment.

Facial contouring in Harley Street

HA Dermal fillers can be used in several areas of the face to rejuvenate and revitalise the facial contours and features. Dr Dan Dhunna will take time to understand your individual facial anatomy and work with your existing contours, for natural-looking results. This level of practice takes many years of medical training, an artistic eye and a deep understanding of the facial anatomy, along with empathy and attention to detail, something not all facial aestheticians possess.

Facial contouring using dermal fillers can improve a whole host of concerns.

  • Temples (to replace loss of volume and prevent a ‘bony’ facial appearance)
  • Cheeks (reconstructing a sculpted cheek and lifting the lower facial area)
  • Jawline (sculpting a more defined jawline and reducing the appearance of jowls)
  • Nose (non-surgical rhinoplasty – correct flaws and re-shape the nose)
  • Tear troughs (reduce the appearance of under eye bags)
  • Chin (create a more youthful-looking chin with shaper definition)

Dermal fillers for facial contouring need to be administered to compliment your own, natural facial structure and very subtly enhance areas which require attention or augmentation. Dr Dan Dhunna’s many years of experience and expertise in using only the very best products in the world, allows him to take into consideration, your face in its entirety and administer the most appropriate type of filler and the exact quantity needed, into the most appropriate areas, in need of treatment.

Thread lifts in Harley Street

In his many years as a medical practitioner, Dr Dan Dhunna has witnessed the progress and decline of several dermal thread products and in his experience, trusts and relies on PDO threads and suspension threads as the most effective and safe to administer. He saw that the traditional, old fashioned dermal threads weren’t strong enough to keep soft tissues lifted, didn’t last particularly well or had primitive barbs to hook the skin which led to problems such as tissue damage. Older threads also had the risk to protrude from the face after a period of time, as the body would reject them as a foreign body. Something Dr Dan Dhunna thought unacceptable in the world of facial improvement.

PDO and PCL suspension threads are of a more state-of-the-art design and offer immediate, multi-angled skin lifting as well as helping the skin to produce more collagen and elastin for long term improvement of the tissues, without the risk of extensive skin damage that some of the more traditional threads offered. After an initial consultation at the Harley Street clinic, Dr Dan Dhunna will select the threads that he feels most appropriate for your specific concerns. He will then decide on the location of the incisions and will insert the chosen threads using a very fine needle under the skin.

Threads are a highly-effective treatment on their own. However, they also work extremely well when used in conjunction with other non-surgical treatment such as Botox, fillers and injectable skin boosters.
