Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) & Dermal Airbrushing™

prp-dermal-airbrushing1

What is PRP?

PRP is a cutting edge, anti-ageing skin rejuvenation procedure with the power to trigger the body’s own tissue regeneration potential. This makes it perfect for acne scar treatment, stretch marks and overall skin rejuvenation.

Made from the patients own blood it is commonly cited in the media as the “Vampire” facial.

How does it work?

Blood contains many cells including platelets which are responsible for blood clotting and the healing of skin after damage.
Platelets store many GROWTH FACTORS such as TGF-β, FGF,EGF, PDGF and VEGF. When platelets are stimulated these are released and result in healing of tissues by the formation of new blood capillaries and the production of collagen.

The power of PRP has been demonstrated in many clinical studies and has been used in several fields of medicine to regenerate damaged tissues including in sports medicine, orthopaedics, plastic and reconstructive surgery, dental surgery and cardiac surgery.

As it boosts collagen and cellular growth, as well as creating new blood capillaries it has been found to be helpful in improving the texture and quality of the skin around the eyes in particular and has been effective in improving dark under eye circles.

When injected into the scalp or the eyebrow region it has been shown to have the ability to awaken dormant hair follicles stimulating regrowth.
This is perfect for thinning hairlines and scalps in both men and women and for over plucked eyebrows.

What is Dermal Airbrushing™?

Dermal Airbrushing™ is a technique developed by Dr Dan Dhunna in Harley Street, London. It encapsulates the benefits of PRP Rejuvenation Therapy and combines them with trusted treatments such as Hyaluronic Acid (HA) and a cocktail of vitamins and amino acids to give your skin a rejuvenated, fresh, luminous glow.

Injected using the DERMAPEN microneedling device this powerful combination of anti-ageing and regenerating ingredients is transmitted into the skin.
So not only are you benefiting from the proven benefits of PRP but are also getting the adding collagen boosting benefits of Dermapen medical microneedling.

Overall benefits include increase in potential collagenesis and better skin rejuvenation and scar reduction as well as hydration and improvement in texture with the Hyaluronic acid and the nourishment and luminosity achieved by the mesococktail.

It is not uncommon for people to have an initial course of 3 treatments over a 3 month basis to begin with, but this is very individual and needs to be discussed at the consultation.

How long do results for?

This is very individual and depends on lifestyle and genetics however most people find that results approximately a year; after that a booster treatment may be necessarily to maintain results.
