Lip filler clinic – Harley Street

lip fillers harley street

As we age, the delicate, vascular area of the lips can become thinner, dehydrated and lines and wrinkles can appear. Certain lifestyle choices such as smoking or excessive sun exposure can exacerbate the issue. When we are younger, our lips are smooth, plump and full of vitality. When time takes its toll, we may wish to restore this look by replenishing the lost collagen and elastin that naturally depletes from this area. From his lip filler clinic in Harley Street, London; world famous as the hub of plastic and cosmetic surgery in the UK, Dr Dan Dhunna offers lip revitalisation using temporary hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers, to replace lost volume, correct any asymmetry and give you that beautiful lip profile you long for.

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances which contain hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally-occurring sugar found within the joints, eyes and connective tissues as well as the skin. HA is depleted as we age, due to sun exposure and the natural ageing process. The skin becomes lax and less toned and hydrated. Replacing the lost HA using injectable dermal fillers in the lips helps to revitalise the lips and re-shape the mouth area as well as re-building collagen depletion within the skin tissues. Popular brands include Juvederm, Restylane, Belotero and Teosyal.

Am I Suitable for lip fillers at Dr Dan Dhunna’s lip filler clinic, Harley Street?

Before any treatment can commence at his Harley Street lip filler clinic, Dr Dhunna will request that you attend a pre-treatment consultation. This initial meeting is vital for both you and the doctor. It allows him to get to know what is really bothering you about your lips and to check your medical history, making sure there are no contraindications that would prevent or restrict your lip filler treatment. It will also allow you to ask as many questions as you need to, so that you can make an informed and educated decision about your lip filler procedure.

What happens during the lip filler treatment at Dr Dan Dhunna’s Harley Street clinic?

A topical numbing cream will be applied to your lips so that you are comfortable throughout the treatment some people may prefer to have an anaesthetic dental block. The doctor will then inject small amounts of the dermal filler around the vermillion boarder of your lips or within the ‘body’ of the lip (and in some cases, both areas) using a cannula. You will be able to see immediate results after your treatment, as the dermal filler gel lifts and volumizes the lip area. However, you may experience some slight swelling and in rare cases, a little bruising for a few days after your treatment; so you may need to wait for this to subside before seeing your full results. You’ll need to adhere to any aftercare advice that the doctor gives you, such as avoiding hot saunas, steam rooms and excessive exercise for around 48 hours after your treatment.

How long do results last from dermal fillers in the lip area?

Results can last between 6 and 12 months, depending on your individual metabolism, lifestyle choices and choice of filler product.

Dr Dan Dhunna’s lip filler clinic in Harley Street

Harley Street is one of the most famous in central London, which has been noted since the 19th century for its large number of private specialists in medicine and surgery. Based in Marylebone and a 5 minute walk from Bond Street or Oxford Street tube station, it was named after Thomas Harley who was Lord Mayor of London in 1767. Harley Street is at the very hub of cosmetic and plastic surgery and is in the centre of the West End. Road access if simple, with easy access from the M25, M1 and M4. Surprisingly, parking is extremely easy around the vicinity, with an NCP car park on Cavendish Square and many pay-by-phone parking spaces in the surrounding roads and streets. Tube links could not be easier and both Bond Street and Oxford Street are on the central line, which runs through the very heart of London from west to east. Regents park is on the Bakerloo line, Warren street – the Northern line and Kings Cross St Pancras is a short Piccadilly Line tube ride away. As you would expect for central London, taxis are in abundance and you can find taxi ranks at each major station, if you prefer not to get the tube, as well as on most roads throughout the city.

Great shopping is within a 5 minute walk and Selfridges, John Lewis and Debenhams are close by, on London’s famous Oxford Street. If you would like to travel a little further, why not try the Westfield shopping centres. Conveniently there is one at each end of the central line, both in Shepherd’s Bush and Stratford, each boasting a tube station close-by.
