Lip fillers in Birmingham

lip fillers in Birmingham

Dermal fillers for the lip area are arguably THE most popular injectable filler treatment on the planet. Its rise in popularity with high-profile celebrities, TV actors and pop stars has meant that this highly-sought after lip injection treatment has become more accessible and favoured with both men and women of all ages. When administered by a fully-qualified medical practitioner with an eye for natural beauty and the anatomical balance of facial proportions, dermal fillers can not only enhance and augment the lips, but help to bring symmetry and a youthful vibrance to the face as a whole. They can fill lines, plump up lips which may have thinned due to the natural ageing process and re-shape the upper and lower lips for better symmetry and fullness. From his clinic in Birmingham, Dr Dan Dhunna administers dermal fillers in to the pouts of thousands of his patients every year, with outstanding results that last!

So, what happens in a dermal filler lip treatment with Dr Dan Dhunna?

As Dr Dan Dhunna is a medical practitioner who adheres to all CQC and GMC guidelines and offers a strict duty of care to all his patients, no treatment can take place at his Birmingham clinic until a full consultation and facial assessment has been completed. This means visiting Dr Dan Dhunna at the clinic to discuss your facial concerns and desires for results, as well as undergoing a skin and lip analysis and medical history check. This meeting will enable you to ask all the questions that you might have about lip fillers and for the doctor to ensure that you are a suitable candidate for a safe and effective treatment. Once both parties are satisfied that dermal fillers will benefit your facial appearance, you will be invited back to the clinic for the injection procedure.

The treatment itself takes around 30 minutes (without numbing time). Prior to any injections, the doctor will apply some topical anaesthetic to the areas that might be most sensitive to the needle or cannula and this can take around 20 to 30 minutes to take effect. When you are completely comfortable and these areas are numb, Dr Dan Dhunna will commence the injections. Small quantities of the chosen dermal filler, best suited to your treatment are applied in to various areas of the lips. This can be in the vermillion boarder (the line around the lips), the body of the lips or even both! Once the dermal filler is placed in to the specific lip areas, the doctor may mould or massage the lips for a soft and natural result.

After the treatment, you might feel some swelling and tenderness in the lip area and there may be some slight bruising, but this will subside and is very normal. Some things to remember to minimise bruising – don’t drink alcohol the night before your treatment as alcohol is a blood thinner which means the risk of bruising is increased. Taking some arnica tablets a few days prior and after your dermal filler treatment can minimise the risk of bruising, as well as using ice packs both during and after the lip injections. Avoiding hot steam rooms, saunas and baths for around 48 hours after your dermal lip filler treatment will also help to minimise bruising.

How much does a dermal filler lip treatment cost?

Costs start from £350, depending on the product used and the amount needed for your individual requirements. The doctor will estimate an accurate costing for you in your no obligation pre-treatment consultation.
