Lip fillers – Bridgnorth, Shropshire

Injectable dermal fillers are world famous for their anti-ageing properties. At Dr Dan Dhunna’s clinic in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, close to Wolverhampton, A458 and on the River Severn, Dr Dan Dhunna administers thousands of dermal filler treatments every year. One of our patients’ most popular treatment using dermal fillers is lip enhancement. As we age and as a result of sun-exposure, smoking and weight loss, our lips can become thin and lined. The loss of substances such as collagen and elastin can mean dehydration of the skin, wrinkling and skin sagging. A youthful pout is full, plump and its profile, protruding and if we start to see changes in the lip area, due to ageing, a dermal filler treatment for this area can work wonders.

Am I suitable for lip fillers at Dr Dan Dhunna’s clinic in Bridgnorth?

Dermal fillers can be used in ips in patients of all ages, from 18 years onwards to 75. However, before any non-surgical treatment can commence, it’s vital that Dr Dan Dhunna can discuss your concerns, analyse your facial features and check your medical history, for your safety and wellbeing. This is why we ask that you attend a no obligation consultation with the doctor to ensure that you will be suitable for lip fillers and that the results will be exactly what you are looking to achieve.

What happens during a dermal filler lip treatment at Dr Dan Dhunna’s clinic, Shropshire?

The skin around your lips will be thoroughly cleansed and sterilised. Then, either a topical anaesthetic will be applied or a dental block with injectable local anaesthetic will be administered. Once this has taken effect, Dr Dan Dhunna will apply small amounts of the chosen filler via a needle or cannula ( a blunt-ended needle which helps minimise the risk of bruising). Various techniques may be chosen at this stage and the doctor will decide on the most beneficial for your needs. Your chosen effect will be achieved in a matter of minutes and you should be able to return to your daily activates with no clinical downtime.

Will I see results straight away?

The answer to this question is yes, but you will need to take in to account, that you may experience some swelling, minor bruising and/or tenderness after your lip filler treatment. This may take a day or so to ease, but this is quite normal. Optimum results are usually seen at around 2 weeks after your lip filler treatment. It is at this point that you can return for a follow up appointment and undergo any tweaks that might be necessary, to complete and perfect your chosen look.

How long do results from a lip filler treatment last?

This is the million dollar question and there are many factors which determine the longevity of your results; from your body’s metabolism of the product, to your lifestyle. Smoking, excessively exercising (long-distance running, heavy cardio) and sun exposure can all speed up the reduction of the filler in your system as well as degrade skin laxity. A healthy diet, reduced sun exposure and a sensible exercise regime can help to prolong your results. The lips are constantly in use, so a lip filler treatment with Dr Dan Dhunna using the best lip filler in the world can last a year in many individuals.
