When will I see results from my Botox treatment?
You should see the effects of the Botox treatment in around 24 to 48 hours, but the full results will be experienced after around 2 weeks. It’s at this stage that you will return to the clinic for a post-Botox assessment and will receive a top up if necessary. Dr Dan Dhunna’s mantra is that you can add but never take away, so he will treat you conservatively at first, especially if it’s your very first Botox treatment.
Results can last anything up to 4 months and may last even longer! This will all depend on your individual response to the product, your skin quality, lifestyle choices and overall health, diet and exercise regimes.

What is BOTOX ®?
BOTOX ® is the brand name for a Prescription Only medicine made by Allergan, an International Pharmaceutical Company and World Leader in Cosmetic Science.
Derived from a bacteria in much the same way Penicillin is derived from mould, the BOTOX ® protein has been extensively used in over 50 years to safely treat conditions in adults and children.

How Does It Work?

What are the Side Effects?
Injected in the right hands BOTOX® is a very safe procedure.
Most of any Side Effects are caused by the entry of the very fine needle into the skin; these tend to be minor and very shortlived if they occur

- Mild redness or swelling of the injected area
- Potential bleeding and bruising can occur
More serious side effects such as droopy eyelids and brows can occur but rarely do so in experienced medical hands. No such side effect is deemed permanent as BOTOX® produces temporary effects.

What is the aftercare?

- Pregnant or Breastfeeding Women

Who Can Inject BOTOX ® ?
BOTOX ® is a prescription only medication and must only be injected by qualified and registered Doctors. New Regulations allow nurses to inject, and as most nurses are non prescribers, the patient must see the prescribing Doctor each time for a Face to Face Consultation. Remote Prescribing, commonly practiced in salons; where a nurse gains a prescription for BOTOX ® from a Doctor and the patient is injected without the Doctor physically seeing the patient breaks codes from the NMC (nursing midwifery council) and the GMC (general medical council) and practitioners can hence be reported and lose their license to practice. Patients are always encouraged to check the license and prescribing status of the injecting practitioner with the NMC, GMC or GDC before considering treatment.
