Dermal fillers – Dudley, West Midlands

Dermal fillers are possibly the most versatile non-surgical injectable treatment in the world and here at Dr Dan Dhunna’s clinic in Sedgley in Dudley, West Midlands, close to the A449 and A4123 and just 2 miles from Wolverhampton city centre, we see thousands of patients every year, who swear by dermal fillers to treat a myriad of facial concerns, from skin laxity, deep set wrinkles, facial hollows to structural feature concerns. As we age, tissue and bone loss as well as the reduction of substances such as collagen and elastin can start to make our faces go south. Certain lifestyle factors such as smoking, excessive sun exposure and intensive exercise as well as weight loss can cause facial ageing. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers work to re-construct certain facial contours as well as lift and tone the skin.

Am I suitable for dermal fillers at Dr Dan Dhunna’s clinic in Dudley, West Midlands?

Patients from the ages of 18 onwards can benefit from dermal fillers, to enhance, re-shape and correct facial features, enhance lips and hydrate the skin. However, before any non-surgical treatment can commence at our Dudley clinic, we ask that you attend a no obligation, initial consultation with Dr Dan Dhunna, so he can discuss your concerns, assess your facial features and discuss with you, your medical history. These preliminary checks will ensure you are both suitable and safe for a dermal filler treatment. Unlike many non-medical practitioners who offer sub-standard dermal filler treatments at reduced prices, the Dudley clinic happens within a CQC regulated medical centre and Dr Dhunna is registered with the GMC; this consultation is part of our duty of care, as a medically-regulated clinic of excellence – ensuring your safety at all times. Choose only the very best for your precious visage.

What happens during a dermal filler treatment at Dr Dan Dhunna’s clinic, Dudley?

Before your treatment with dermal fillers at our Dudley clinic, a small amount of topical anaesthetic may be applied to the areas for treatment (however, most dermal fillers do now contain an anaesthetic, so this may not be necessary). Dr Dan Dhunna will apply small amounts of the chosen filler via a needle or a cannula ( a blunt-ended needle which aids glide and minimises the risk of bruising) in to the areas of concern. Treatments can include:

• Cheek enhancement
• Non-surgical rhinoplasty (nose job)
• Lip fillers
• Tear trough (under eye bags)
• Jawline contouring
• Chin augmentation
• Temple hollows
• Face lifting
• Wrinkle smoothing
• Lower facial enhancement

When the dermal filler has been injected into the specific treatment areas, the doctor may mould the filler in to place, for a natural result. Once treatment is complete, you can return to your daily activities, adhering to any aftercare instructions the doctor gives you.

Will I see results from a dermal filler treatment, straight away?

Your results will usually be noticed straight away, but you will need to take in to account that you may have some swelling and tenderness after your dermal filler treatment, which can take a day to a few days to subside. Optimum results are usually seen at around 2 weeks after your dermal filler treatment and it is at this stage that you can return for a follow up appointment with Dr Dan Dhunna at our Dudley clinic, for any additional adjustments, to complete and perfect the outcome. However, this is not always required.

How long do results from a dermal filler treatment last?

There are several factors which determine the longevity of your dermal filler results;

• The area treated
• The dermal filler product used
• Your body’s individual response to the treatment
• Your lifestyle choices (smoking, excessive sun exposure, intensive exercise all can reduce longevity of results)

The filers used by Dr Dhunna can last up to 2 years but certain areas can vary. Lips are constantly moving and therefore the product can be eliminated from the body faster than static facial areas. Your expected results longevity will be discussed with Dr Dan Dhunna in your initial consultation.
